GameCube port of Code Veronica X, the expanded version of the Dreamcast original. Dense adventure between prison and Antarctica, story shedding light on the Ashford family. Beautiful fixed-camera shots and well-paced survival action. An excellent chapter, often underrated.

Collector interest

Resident Evil Code Veronica X PAL is the European edition of the GameCube port of Code Veronica's extended version with additional cutscenes and adjustments. Collector value comes from that specific European presentation and from the GC port remaining the definitive Nintendo version.

Memorable bosses

From the prison island to the Antarctic ice, the encounters build to a crescendo of spectacular metamorphoses. Alexia, theatrical and venomous, strings together transformations like a macabre opera, while Nosferatu erupts unleashed. Their sickly charisma and a sweeping staging lend every duel an excess that leaves a lasting imprint.

Is Resident Evil - Code - Veronica X still worth playing in 2026?

A GameCube port of the X version of Code Veronica, this title keeps all the content enriched by Capcom, including the extra cutscenes focused on Wesker. The theatrical staging, the claustrophobic passages between Rockfort and Antarctica, and the switch between Claire and Chris stay as effective as ever. Tank handling and fixed cameras call for adaptation, but the intensity of traditional survival horror probably reaches its peak here. A strong recommendation for absolute fans of the series and for collectors hunting curiosities.
