An early Dreamcast survival horror with grotesque creatures and a stifling mood. Pacing drags and flaws show, yet the pull to explore its sickly world still carries real charm.

Is Blue Stinger still worth playing in 2026?

Blue Stinger is one of the very first Dreamcast titles, and it shows both in its ambition and its flaws. An early example of survival action on the console, it offers a generous adventure on a creature infested island, with exploration, combat and puzzles. The singular atmosphere keeps a certain charm, but a wayward camera, dated dialogue and stiff staging have aged badly. More a historical launch curiosity than a game to recommend broadly, best left to forgiving fans of the genre.
