First portable Story of Seasons, the Game Boy entry. Crops, livestock, farm life on monochrome screen. The contemplative pace suits the handheld, the writing is light but touching. Less rich than SNES/N64 versions, but works in short doses. For peaceful sim fans.

Harvest Moon GB, the North American version of Victor Interactive's farm-management simulation on Game Boy, Super Game Boy compatible. Bringing the cult series to the handheld, it offers the soothing cycle of crops, livestock and village relationships in a pocket format. Its desirability lies in the rising value of the Harvest Moon franchise, the scarcity of simulations of this calibre on the console and the faithful demand of its fans.

Is Harvest Moon GB still worth playing in 2026?

Bokujou Monogatari GB is the portable version of the forerunner of Story of Seasons, a farming life sim where you grow crops, raise animals and build bonds with the village across the seasons. Its peaceful pace and absence of pressure make it a soothing experience, the foundation of a genre that grew immense. Necessarily limited technically and in its interactions against today's standards, it keeps a gentle, sincere charm. Worth recommending to fans of calm management games curious about the genre's origins.
