In the lineage of its predecessor, the adventure extends its painted landscapes and miniature towns with a delightful finesse. Inventive costumes and soft light feed a coherent enchantment, magnified by the 3D depth. This pictorial direction, tender and refined, keeps the charm of an illustrated tale.
Still signed by Revo, the sequel unfurls even more exalted battle themes, between a fiery orchestra and electric guitars. Every clash rises like a rock opera, galvanising the turn-based strategy. This melodic generosity, faithful to the first part, confirms the series as a sonic peak of the genre.

That generosity of progression, true to its predecessor, makes it a JRPG enthusiasts take their time to savour.

Bravely Second - End Layer (3DS) price, value & rarity
The NTSC release of Bravely Second lived in the shadow of the first entry but had a modest print run, which paradoxically makes it the rarer of the two on the US market. Its appeal stems mostly from closing the classic sub-series before Square Enix moved Bravely onto Switch. For a US JRPG collector, it is the kind of title still found at reasonable prices but headed for the trajectory of underprinted cult sequels.
Is Bravely Second - End Layer still worth playing in 2026?
Released in 2015 in Japan then 2016 in the West on 3DS, Square Enix's project extends Bravely Default by polishing its turn based combat around the Brave and Default pairing. The newcomer Yew and the further widened job system, accompanied by chaining combos between actions, deepen an already rich strategy. The watercolour art direction and the careful soundtrack keep the series' charm. The story that recycles settings from the first entry and a certain classicism divide. A solid and generous sequel, recommended for fans of turn based RPGs and of class optimisation who want more of a proven formula.
