Collector interest

A Super Famicom exclusive by Game Freak, this strategic action RPG set in Edo-period Japan predates Pokémon by a short margin, making it a piece of history sought by studio fans and collectors of cult titles never localized. Confined to the Japanese market, it is absent from Western libraries, which feeds its niche-import status. Complete SFC cardboard box, spine card and Japanese manual make it a coveted target, an intact copy staying uncommon outside Japan.

An underrated gem

Made by Game Freak just before Pokémon, this Japanese action-RPG hides a grid-based movement and combat system cleverer than its low profile suggests. Never released outside Asia and technically uneven, it sank into anonymity. A curiosity for fans of original mechanics and forgotten chapters of the studio's history.
