In the thick of the Cold War, a soldier tries to reconstruct manipulated memories at the heart of covert operations. Collector interest

European (PAL) edition of Call of Duty Black Ops, a Treyarch entry set in the depths of the Cold War, praised for its dark campaign and its Zombies mode become cult, one of the console's biggest sellers. Extremely widespread in Europe, its collector interest is low, its desirability resting mainly on the Zombies mode and nostalgia rather than scarcity. A mainly functional piece, common but cherished by series fans.

Better with friends

The co-op Zombies mode is the heart of the game: together you hold the undead waves on cult maps like Kino der Toten or "Five," where JFK and Nixon lend a hand. The carefully balanced competitive side adds Wager Matches, where you bet your points, and local split-screen revives couch nights. The era's official servers are no longer guaranteed, but the gleeful dread of the hordes stays intact in co-op.

Is Call of Duty - Black Ops still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2010 on Xbox 360, Treyarch's Black Ops remains one of the series' peaks, driven by a Cold War espionage campaign, from Vietnam to secret Soviet operations. The narration, its twists and its striking set pieces give it a real identity. The multiplayer, fluid and balanced, marked a generation, as did the Zombies mode that became a cult favourite with friends. The shutdown of the official servers cuts the online side. But the solo and local Zombies stay excellent. For fans of story driven military shooters and the nostalgic, this classic keeps great value today.
