The first Call of Juarez throws two genuinely opposite heroes into a grimy Far West, with vertical level sections that still feel pretty original. It's a series that deserves more love than it ever got, especially if westerns are your thing.

Is Call of Juarez still worth playing in 2026?

A first person shooter from Techland, Call of Juarez sets a twilight western where you alternate between a hunted outlaw and the vengeful preacher chasing him, each with their own play style. The far west atmosphere, the bullet time pistol duels and the biblical narration give the title real personality. The stiff stealth phases and a dated production weigh it down. An atypical FPS for fans of video game westerns and the curious about the series' beginnings before Bound in Blood.
