Captain Silver ports the Data East hack and slash to NES with sailor Jim seeking the Silver pirate's treasure across islands and caves. The representation chains horizontal scrolling levels with saber and magic in an arcade port formula. Honest for NES action platform fans in the 8 bit Data East production vein.

Famicom adaptation of the Data East arcade game, published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten in 1987 and never sold in the West. This publishing-house with limited gaming forays pressed cartridges in low volume, making its titles hard to gather. Captain Silver owes its interest to the twin status of Famicom exclusive and scarce Tokuma Shoten release, more than to the port's quality, which is regarded as lukewarm.
