The sequel is even more generous and inventive. New enemies, new levels, charm intact. Capcom did even better with what seems the same budget. Perfectly recommendable.

The sequel enriches the domestic scenery with a more varied vocabulary: a building site, a museum, a pirate ship, a time machine. The sprites gain detail without losing readability, and the liftable objects now stand out from the background through a slightly stronger outline, a discreet but effective reading aid.
The writing takes up the first instalment's cheerful colour while widening the harmonic palette: richer chords, better constructed bridges, a few minor-key passages for the night levels. The bass stays very active and carries the tempo alone, leaving the melody free to run in the upper register.
Gameplay

Building on the crate-throwing mechanic, this sequel polishes the level design and varies the situations more, still playable in two. The handling stays instantly accessible, the pacing buoyant. More refined than the original, it preserves a clear, warm-hearted co-op platformer whose simple pleasure hasn't aged a day.
A direct sequel released at the very tail of the NES PAL cycle with a drastically reduced print compared to the first entry. The PAL cart is now one of the recognised speculative targets of the Capcom Disney NES catalogue, and CIB in an intact cardboard box reaches top public-auction marks. The 1993 release coincided with the 16-bit shift, sharpening the scarcity pressure.

Chip 'n Dale - Rescue Rangers 2, also Chip to Dale no Daisakusen 2 in Japan, is even more generous and inventive than the first. New enemies, new levels and the same intact charm, Capcom delivers more with an apparently identical budget. Local co-op remains the headline attraction and the finishing touches stay exemplary. Released late on NES, the cart turned rare and expensive but never disappoints. Still perfectly recommendable to chain after the first today.
