Chubby Cherub is a Bandai NES platformer featuring a chubby cherub flying across cities and countryside to rescue his dog Ivan. The representation offers scrolling levels with food collection and free flight in a light family formula. Honest for childish NES platform fans, curiosity of the 8 bit Bandai catalog.

Description
Side-scrolling platformer starring a chubby cherub who flings sweets at his foes. Released by Bandai in 1986 in the United States. Short stages, drifting flight controls and an oddball bestiary. Western reworking of a Japanese title, widely regarded as a low point in the Bandai catalogue.

Collector interest

Released in the United States in 1986, Chubby Cherub was quietly dropped by Bandai, which kept its print run low and drives the steep price of complete copies today. A Western reskin of Japan's Obake no Q-Taro, whose licence could not travel abroad, the title saw little distribution and faded fast. Its standing rests on scarcity rather than play quality, the game being regarded as one of Bandai's weaker NES outings.
