PS1 port of the original Clock Tower on Super Famicom, considered a founding game of the point-and-click survival horror genre. The Scissorman remains a terror icon. Dated graphics but claustrophobic atmosphere and escape mechanics are intact and still effective.

Is Clock Tower - The First Fear still worth playing in 2026?

A PlayStation reissue of the very first Clock Tower, this point and click survival horror has young Jennifer flee through a mansion haunted by the terrifying Scissorman and his giant shears. The lack of combat, the reliance on fleeing and the multiple endings install a singular tension that founded the sub-genre. The cursor handling and the slow pace have aged. A piece of history for fans of old school horror and lovers of the survival horror evolution.
