Comic Party, from Leaf, blends visual novel and simulation around a young man diving into doujinshi creation. The title alternates narration, relationship choices and management of fanzine production to show at conventions, which gives it a distinctive rhythm and flavor. Its amused look at otaku culture and its multiple endings keep real interest for fans of the genre. The light tone ages well, but the measured pace and above all the lack of translation reserve it for an informed audience that reads Japanese.
