The first snowboarding game on PS1, founding the genre on Sony's console. Cool Boarders offers varied slopes and a satisfying trick system for its era. Dated graphics but the arcade snowboarding essence is there. A nostalgic niche title.

Is Cool Boarders still worth playing in 2026?

A snowboarding pioneer on PlayStation, Cool Boarders offers behind the back descents where the stakes mix speed, balance and trick chaining to rack up points. The sense of carving, the board selection and the slope atmosphere laid the foundations of a then fledgling genre. The rough 3D, the small number of tracks and stiff handling have clearly aged. A piece of history for fans of retro board sports and the curious about the early days of video game snowboarding.
