A cute Virgin platformer starring the 7Up mascot, pleasant and colourful. No standout innovation, but tidily made for short, easy sessions.

Collector interest

Cool Spot PAL is the European edition of Virgin/David Perry's game adapted from the 7-Up mascot. Collector value comes from the rarity of the 7-Up advertising franchise's game adaptations.

Is Cool Spot still worth playing in 2026?

A 2D platformer by Virgin Games from the 7UP advert, Cool Spot offers a dynamic adventure with surprisingly precise handling and polished production. The red bespectacled mascot jumps, runs and shoots bubbles in sunny levels. Visually charming and technically accomplished, the title largely exceeds advergame expectations to become a real quality platformer. For anyone fond of dynamic and well built 2D platformers, a warm recommendation still valid today despite its advertising origin truly here indeed.
