A cute Virgin platformer starring the 7Up mascot, pleasant and colourful. No standout innovation, but tidily made for short, easy sessions.

Description
Cool Spot, the 7 Up mascot, rescues his trapped friends in this Virgin Mega Drive platformer. Published by Virgin, released in Japan and South Korea in 1993. Colourful platformer with Cool Spot collecting 7 Up coins, varied themed levels and fun bosses.
The Japanese/Korean edition of Cool Spot is the regional pressing of Virgin/David Perry's game in a limited local print.
Is Cool Spot still worth playing in 2026?
A 2D platformer by Virgin Games from the 7UP advert, Cool Spot offers a dynamic adventure with surprisingly precise handling and polished production. The red bespectacled mascot jumps, runs and shoots bubbles in sunny levels. Visually charming and technically accomplished, the title largely exceeds advergame expectations to become a real quality platformer. For anyone fond of dynamic and well built 2D platformers, a warm recommendation still valid today despite its advertising origin truly here indeed.
