Collector interest

A 3D platformer originally conceived around Yoshi before becoming an independent mascot, a witness to an era when every publisher sought its own animal hero. Widely distributed, it stays very affordable, and its interest lies mainly in this design backstory and the slightly dated charm of its early 3D. An approachable curiosity rather than a rare collector's piece.

Is Croc - Legend of the Gobbos still worth playing in 2026?

Croc - Legend of the Gobbos is a 3D platformer by Argonaut Games, considered one of the earliest PS1 3D games. Croc offers colourful levels and accessible gameplay around an endearing crocodile saving kidnapped Gobbos. Less polished than Crash Bandicoot, the title offers a freer experience with orbital camera and 3D exploration. A defensible detour today.
