DDR crossed with Mario, you stomp away on a dedicated mat. Curious concept but limited, song selection a let down on the Nintendo side. Fun for five minutes, quickly tiring. More of a collector's oddity than a real rhythm gem.

Is Dancing Stage Mario Mix still worth playing in 2026?

A collaboration between Konami and Nintendo, Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix marries the famous foot based rhythm game with the world of Mario, with revisited songs from the saga and a light adventure mode. The game is ideally played with the dance mat, which turns the experience into a fun, family friendly workout. Without the mat, the appeal melts away. The musical selection and good natured tone will delight fans of both licenses. For lovers of convivial rhythm games and party games, it keeps an intact festive charm, provided you have the right hardware.
