Is Darius Twin still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of Taito's horizontal shooter, Darius Twin transposes the series' marine world with its bosses shaped like mechanised sea creatures and its progressive power-up system. The option to play two players simultaneously energises the experience and stays its best asset. More accessible and less inspired than the arcade cabinets, it offers a decent shmup without leaving a mark. A title for fans of 16 bit co-op shooting and of the Darius saga to discover on console.
