Darwin 4081 is a Japanese vertical shoot on Mega Drive with its evolving ship gaining abilities through levels. The biological evolution mechanic appeals and the soundtrack holds up on the console. Pleasant for 16 bit shoot fans, original in the evolution concept.

Collector interest

Sega vertical shoot'em up built on a biological-evolution mechanic for the ship, released in Japan and Korea. Its collector interest comes from that mutation-based weapon system, original for its time, which made it a curiosity studied by genre fans, and from the rarity of the Korean version from a very narrow Mega Drive market. The Korea variant, far less common than the Japanese one, is its most coveted object for regional collectors.
