Carried by the name of legendary rider Dave Mirra, Freestyle BMX 2 applies to BMX the recipe of the Tony Hawk popularized extreme sports games, with trick chains, open parks and objective challenges. The combo system is satisfying and the sense of riding decent, but the presentation and handling show their age, and the whole lacks the polish of the genre's best. For fans of retro extreme sport and nostalgics of that wave, it offers an effective outlet, if not a memorable one today.
