The 1996 overhaul goes first for what troubled the eye: draw distance pushed back, finer textures, scenery that no longer melts away as you approach. The two new layouts widen the palette, above all the night race where headlights and neon replace the wide blue sky of the original circuit. A calmer, more consistent presentation throughout.
Impossible to forget the thunderous "Let's Go Away" and the "Daytonaaa" cry of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, kitsch and jubilant anthems of the arcade. These vitamin-charged rock refrains stick to the frenzy of the corners and spike every overtake. This unabashed sonic madness remains one of the racing game's greatest guilty pleasures.

European PAL edition of Daytona USA Championship Circuit Edition, distributed by Sega Europe in June 1996 as a Rev A revision that addresses the main criticisms of the 1995 1S run thanks to a reworked engine. That version became for the PAL market the canonical reading of the game and the reference piece for anyone judging the Saturn by its flagship racer outside arcade. Sega Europe run was short compared with the first run, PAL Rev A identified clean complete clearly valued.
