Remastered version of the first DOA with improved graphics and enriched content. The series' instant counter-attack gameplay is already well established. Less spectacular than DOA 3 but historically interesting for saga fans.

Is Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate still worth playing in 2026?
A remake of the first Dead or Alive by Team Ninja, this Ultimate version rebuilds Tecmo's original fighting game on the DOA3 engine, with sumptuous graphics and multi level interactive arenas. The counter system, the fast pace and the readability make this reworking an elegant, snappy 3D versus. The technical depth short of Virtua Fighter divides purists. A fighting game to recommend for Dead or Alive fans and lovers of spectacular, accessible 3D versus.
