Stafy 2 improves on the original in every way. More imaginative levels, better variety and the same intact charm. Even more recommended than the first for newcomers.

An underrated gem

This sequel expands the little star's powers and broadens its undersea worlds without losing an ounce of its good cheer. Like the first, it stayed locked in Japan, invisible to most European players. More generous and better paced, it'll satisfy anyone after a gentle, polished platformer worth importing without a second thought.

Is Densetsu no Stafy 2 still worth playing in 2026?

A sequel to Nintendo's underwater platformer, Densetsu no Stafy 2 sends the little starfish to save his mother across new sea and land worlds, with new abilities and minigames. The tender charm, fluid swimming and generous content make it a step up from the first, while keeping great accessibility. The difficulty stays gentle and the formula familiar. Kept in Japan, it is a delightful gem for fans of cute platforming and lovers of the Stafy mascot.
