The only Nintendo game designed by Miyamoto that stayed exclusive to Japan (and Europe). Pac-Man enhanced with Christian crosses. Original, strange, fun. An interesting historical curiosity.

An original Nintendo design barred from North America by NOA's policy against religious imagery, making this the rare PAL NES box with no North American equivalent. That Europe-and-Japan exclusivity, paired with the cross-collecting mechanic at its core, gives it real historical weight. The steep complete price reflects a narrow PAL distribution and lasting notoriety as a piece of taboo game design from Nintendo's own studio.

Is Devil World still worth playing in 2026?

A Nintendo action game, Devil World has you steer a little dragon through a Pac-Man-like moving maze, collecting crosses and devouring enemies while dodging the Devil who reshapes the terrain. The blend of chase and shifting-space management keeps a retro arcade charm, never officially released in the US due to its religious theme. The formula stays simple and repetitive. A historical curiosity for fans of overlooked Nintendo arcade and collectors.
