Die Hard adapts the John McTiernan action film on Activision NES with John McClane tracking terrorists in the Nakatomi tower barefoot. The representation offers top down skyscraper view with health and ammunition management in an original film license formula. Honest for NES action license fans in the 8 bit Activision production vein.

European PAL version of Activision's adaptation, with a notoriously tighter print run than the North American edition and far scarcer in Europe than its rating suggests. The top-down Nakatomi tower and strong film license met a lukewarm reception at launch, which capped local production. The complete PAL copy commands a high price driven by the shortage of boxed European examples rather than by the game's quality.
