An exploration-action game from Rare, Digger T. Rock sends a miner to dig through caverns to recover artifacts, digging, jumping and fighting in trap-laden galleries in side view. The digging physics, the inventory management and the vertical exploration give some depth, in a production typical of the studio's early days. The stiff handling and a frustrating difficulty date it. A curiosity for fans of overlooked NES exploration-action and nostalgics of early Rare games.
