Collector interest

A Japan-only release that never saw localization, Digimon World X is above all an import curio for completist Digimon fans. Its collector appeal rests on that absence of a Western release rather than the title's quality, keeping it to a niche of enthusiasts looking to cover the franchise's Japanese branch. Narrow demand, sustained by regional exclusivity.

Is Digimon World X still worth playing in 2026?

An entry in the Digimon World role playing series, this fourth installment leans toward action RPG and co-op dungeon crawling, where you play a Digimon exploring enemy filled levels. The intent to blend exploration, combat and progression is commendable, but the execution suffers from repetitive fights, an awkward camera and poorly balanced difficulty. The presentation stays modest. For Digimon fans after co-op and the curious about the license, it offers a decent two player pastime, below the expectations of the series' devotees.
