Motocross racing in pseudo-3D. Ambitious Mode 7, loose handling, decent speed feel. More tech demo than solid game.

Collector interest

The PAL version of Acclaim's Dirt Trax FX, a pseudo-3D motocross racer using the Super FX2 chip, released late on both sides of the Atlantic. This European edition, less plentiful than the NTSC one, mainly appeals to fans of Super FX chip carts, a family increasingly sought after on SNES. Woolly handling and dated Mode 7 visuals make it more a tech demo than a solid game; collecting interest rests on the onboard hardware, the smaller PAL print and its place among the console's last FX titles.
