Donkey Kong with ring-grabbing based gameplay, surprisingly original. Simple but progressively deep mechanics, fun to master. An underrated DK game.

Is DK - King of Swing still worth playing in 2026?

A platformer with novel controls from Paon, DK King of Swing has Donkey Kong climb peg by peg using only the shoulder buttons, with no d-pad. This swinging mechanic, confusing then exhilarating once mastered, gives the title real identity, between rhythmic climbing and collectible levels. The concept shows its limits in variety quickly and the controls put you off at first. An original, likable curiosity, worth recommending to fans of offbeat platforming and dexterity challenges.
