The second Doraemon 3D adventure, brighter and a touch better paced. Extra gadgets bring fresh wrinkles, the combat has been reworked and the staging honours the anime series. Still aimed at younger players and Japan-only, but the whole package gains in charm.

Is Doraemon 2 - Nobita to Hikari no Shinden still worth playing in 2026?

Doraemon 2 - Nobita to Hikari no Shinden is the second installment of the Doraemon trilogy on N64, an action-adventure in which Nobita and the robot cat explore a temple of light using the series' emblematic gadgets. The faithfulness to the manga universe, the puzzles and the variety of gadgets bring a certain charm, in an approachable and good-natured adventure. The 3D handling and an at-times uneven level design betray its limits. Kept exclusive to Japan, it will mainly appeal to fans of Doraemon and family retro platform-adventure.
