Capcom's DuckTales sequel on Game Boy. Five new levels (mine, island, etc.), the pogo-stick still royal, extra gadgets. Slightly harder, slightly less inspired than the first, but still an excellent Game Boy platformer. Chain it right after the first DuckTales without hesitation.

Still signed by Capcom, the sequel unfurls lively, singing chiptune themes, perfectly in tune with Scrooge's wanderings. Each level has its catchy refrain, charging the rhythm of the treasure hunt. This joyful 8-bit energy, faithful to the first game, keeps a perfectly intact charm.

Collector interest

DuckTales 2, the European version of the sequel to the Capcom platformer in which Scrooge McDuck seeks his ancestor's lost treasure. Renowned for its quality and pressed in very small numbers in PAL for want of broad commercial success, this title ranks among the priciest European Game Boy games. Its desirability blends the acknowledged excellence of the Capcom production with a concrete scarcity that makes it a collectors' grail.

Is DuckTales 2 still worth playing in 2026?

DuckTales 2 extends Capcom's masterpiece with five new levels, enhanced cane moves and more secrets to uncover. The formula stays just as brilliant, the pogo bounce as satisfying as ever, and the level design gains subtlety with hidden passages and collectibles. A touch less striking than the first simply through repetition, it remains nonetheless an excellent platformer, polished and generous. Worth recommending without hesitation to fans of the genre and all who loved the first entry.
