A third-person Duke adventure that's meatier than it looks. Four eras with strongly contrasted atmospheres, a satisfying arsenal and the mascot's macho humour intact. The engine wheezes a touch, but the variety and staging make it a perfectly decent bonus shooter.

Collector interest

The NTSC-USA version of Duke Nukem Zero Hour targets the American market where the N64 thrived, so its larger print run keeps loose and CIB prices slightly under Europe. Sealed copies are still what genuinely inflates the figure, the game never having reached cult standing. It serves as the default variant for North American collectors rather than a scarce piece in its own right.

Is Duke Nukem - Zero Hour still worth playing in 2026?

Duke Nukem - Zero Hour offers a third-person action adventure in which the series' macho hero travels through different historical eras to repel an alien invasion. The blend of shooting, exploration and time travel brings welcome variety, and the crude humor faithful to the character sets the tone. The handling and camera call for some adaptation and the presentation is dated. For fans of retro action and Duke Nukem's offbeat universe, it is a solid adventure, more ambitious than it looks.
