A spiritual sequel to Die Hard Arcade, explosive and cathartic. Snappy arcade brawling, pulpy mood and short but punchy stages. Beat 'em up mayhem that is genuinely fun.

The original Japanese version of Dynamite Cop, released as Dynamite Deka 2 in late 1998, among the console's earliest Sega titles in Japan. The Deka naming and the Japanese sleeve clearly set this pressing apart from the PAL Dynamite Cop edition, creating two separate collectible objects for one game. The Japanese run was more plentiful than the Western one, so the price stays moderate, yet purists value the original title.

Is Dynamite Deka 2 still worth playing in 2026?

A direct follow up to Die Hard Arcade, this Sega brawler fully embraces its arcade lunacy. Levels rush by, improvised weapons range from a frozen tuna to a rocket launcher, and the boss fights border on the absurd. A single run lasts only a few minutes, which keeps it aimed at score chasers and short two player sessions. The presentation shows its age and replay value stays thin, yet the comic energy and breakneck pace keep a real charm for anyone who loves unpretentious arcade action.
