A third person shooter from Sandlot, Earth Defense Force 2 sends the player to defend the Earth against massive invasions of giant insects and alien ships, in a riot of jubilant, unbuttoned destruction. The raw pleasure of pulverising swarms of enemies, the packed arsenal and the co-op make up a stress reliever with a deliciously kitsch charm, faithful to the saga's B movie spirit. The modest production is part of the identity. For a fan of unashamed arcade shooting or of EDF, the title keeps a preserved energy and fun.
