Description

Monster trucks jump over mounds, slide in mud and perform daring jumps in varied natural settings. Driving by tilting the Wii Remote sideways, terraforming by accumulating trees and hills along the route to create jumps, turbo and rated style. The scenery deforms under the wheels, and that is the whole subject. Monster Games raises the earth in real time, swells a hill in front of the bonnet, digs out a ravine, and you literally watch the relief being sculpted during the race. The bodywork, painted in heavily saturated flat colour, stays identifiable at full speed among folds of terrain that did not exist a second earlier.
The original soundtrack is instrumental rock with no dead time, written to lock onto the jump phases and pick up again on landing. Rare for the time, the game also lets you fetch your own tracks from a memory card and race to them, which amounts to letting the player sign the atmosphere of their own race.
