Codemasters and Sumo Digital F1 racing adapted to Wii. Official 2009 roster, assisted handling, local multi. A Wii console-only release at the time, fun for casual F1 fans but clearly behind the more demanding HD versions.

Is F1 2009 still worth playing in 2026?

A Wii adaptation of the Formula 1 championship by Sumo Digital, F1 2009 offers the official season with its teams and drivers, in a deliberately accessible approach with a cartoonish look. The assisted driving, the career mode and multiplayer make it a likeable gateway for a broad audience. The simplified modelling, the lack of deep simulation and a modest production disappoint purists. A title for casual Formula 1 fans and Wii players after family racing.
