Collector interest

GBA reissue of the first Ganbare Goemon in the Famicom Mini collection, a look back at the 1986 Konami title that founded the series of the big-hearted thief in a whimsical Edo Japan. The birth act of a cult franchise long confined to the archipelago, the cartridge perpetuates its origin in a faithful miniature box. Its collecting interest rests on this status as the starting point of an emblematic Japanese saga and on its place in the Famicom commemorative line.

Is Famicom Mini 20 - Ganbare Goemon! - Karakuri Douchuu still worth playing in 2026?

A GBA reissue of Konami's first Ganbare Goemon, this Famicom Mini has the honourable bandit Goemon roam a stylised Edo Japan, between town exploration, shopping and action. The blend of adventure and combat, rich for its time, and the series' own humour give it a strong personality, even if the language barrier complicates progress. The conversion stays faithful. For a fan of Japanese classics, someone curious about the Goemon series' roots or a collector, the title keeps a historical character and an exotic charm.
