Far Cry 4 is a generous sequel in the Himalayas with Pagan Min and the Kyrat resistance. Vertical open world with rideable gyrocopters and elephants, online co-op. Less memorable than FC3 but excellent.

Collector interest

A direct sequel to the Far Cry 3 formula, transposed to a fictional Himalaya with a memorable antagonist, a big late-generation success. Mass-printed, it stays accessible and without value. Its collector interest is heritage-based, that of a solid open-world entry, without scarcity or speculative demand, its run and availability remaining very wide.

Better with friends

An explosive sandbox where co-op lets you tackle the playground two-player, improvising outpost assaults and unplanned joyrides. Mutual aid feeds plans that derail merrily, between flanking moves and hilarious disasters caused by the wildlife. The online component leans on uncertain servers, but the free-roaming duo keeps a rare charm and real generosity in shared chaos.

Is Far Cry 4 still worth playing in 2026?

Far Cry 4 is a generous sequel that transposes its elder's proven formula into the mountains of Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan region under the tyrant Pagan Min, an elegant and unpredictable antagonist. The open world's verticality, enriched with gyrocopters and rideable elephants, brings real freshness, and online co-op extends the fun. Less surprising than Far Cry 3 and a touch repetitive in its structure, it is nonetheless an excellent open-world shooter. For anyone who loved the previous entry and wants to extend the experience, the journey stays very satisfying.
