A more polished SNES Fatal Fury sequel, with bigger roster and stronger tech. Solid, though NEOGEO versions still rule.

Collector interest

PAL edition of Fatal Fury 2, the wider-roster sequel (Mai Shiranui included) distributed in Europe by Ocean. A better SNES port than the first game, it sits as the mid-run sequel in the series' console arc. On the European market, a short run and localization make it a notch less common than the big fighting licenses; interest falls on a complete clean PAL box, the loose-cart version staying secondary to SNK-saga collectors.

Is Fatal Fury 2 still worth playing in 2026?

A Super Nintendo port of Fatal Fury 2, this fighter widens the roster to eight combatants including Mai Shiranui and keeps the two-plane system that lets you switch between foreground and background. The sprites are large, the special moves flashy, and the conversion holds up honourably despite the technical compromises against the NEOGEO. Today it remains a solid, playable fighting game, especially in versus, even if purists will always prefer the original on SNK's arcade and console.
