Earlier Fire Pro Wrestling entry already featuring a deep grappling system and extensive customisation. Slightly less complete than Returns but an excellent wrestling simulation for genre fans seeking an accessible and quality title.

Is Fire Pro Wrestling Z still worth playing in 2026?

An entry in Spike's Japanese wrestling simulation, Fire Pro Wrestling Z carries over the heart of the series, that demanding timing system that governs the outcome of grapples, with a broad roster and deep customisation options. The depth of the grappling and the fidelity to the sport keep a rigour prized by purists. The 2D sprites, the absence of localisation and the steep learning curve limit the audience. A niche wrestling simulation to recommend for fans of technical grappling and demanding Japanese games.
