Is Firewatch still worth playing in 2026?
Firewatch remains a model of environmental storytelling. The Wyoming lookout tower, the vast forests and the radio bond between Henry and Delilah create a rare intimacy, carried by exceptional voice acting. The walking is slow, interaction limited, and you don't play for challenge but for emotion and mystery. Its much-debated ending still divides. Short and purely narrative, it won't suit action seekers. But for anyone after an adult, melancholy and beautifully written story, its charm stays intact on Switch, nearly a decade later. Few games make conversation feel this alive across a wilderness.
