A snappy aerial rail shooter with a strong speed sensation. Less well known than After Burner but technically better executed on the Master System. A few repetitive levels but overall enjoyable.

Is G-LOC - Air Battle still worth playing in 2026?

An adaptation of Sega's aerial combat cabinet, G-LOC - Air Battle puts the player in cockpit view to chain high speed fighter pilot missions, strafing and missiling enemy squadrons. The sense of speed and the tension of lock ons carry a direct arcade action, heir to After Burner. The 8 bit conversion inevitably trims the spectacle, and repetition shows. For a retro rail shooter fan or someone curious about Sega arcade ports, the title keeps an immediate energy and a period character.
