The absence of walls changes the composition of the image: the arenas extend indefinitely to the sides, which requires drawing settings whose motif repeats with no visible seam, distant planets, rings, nebulae. The fighters come from radically different species, feline, plant, robot, which gives the cast silhouettes with no relation to one another.
Each planet receives a theme whose instrumentation aims to sound alien, unusual timbres, scales that avoid Western landmarks, percussion hard to attribute to any known instrument. That premise installs a constant sense of displacement, and the writing deliberately avoids memorable melodies in favour of colour.
