Midway arcade hack-and-slash, sequel to Gauntlet Legends. Four beefed-up hero classes, dungeons to crawl with up to four players, hordes of enemies. Excellent local multi, repetitive solo. A nice evolution but overshadowed by Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.

Is Gauntlet - Dark Legacy still worth playing in 2026?

An heir to the legendary arcade hack and slash, Dark Legacy revives the top down dungeon for up to four players, blasting hordes of monsters while grabbing treasure, keys and food. The simple, repetitive formula comes into its own in co-op, where shared chaos turns jubilant. The production stays functional. For someone nostalgic for Gauntlet cabinets or a fan of cooperative blasting, the title keeps an obvious appeal in company.
