Collector interest

A vertical shoot 'em up released very late on the console, whose late, limited Japanese distribution makes it an uncommon piece of the genre. This end-of-life release appeals to shmup fans hunting the PlayStation's final physical titles. Its interest lies in this twilight-release scarcity rather than marked renown, in a niche loyal to scoring.

Is Geki-Oh - Shienryuu still worth playing in 2026?

Geki-Oh - Shienryuu is a Warashi PS1 vertical shmup with Japanese medieval aesthetics and gameplay oriented toward deep scoring. Less known than other shmups of the era, the title offers a solid competitive experience with well-thought bullet patterns and elaborate scoring system. A defensible detour today.
