A third Gex outing in 3D, more assured than ever. The parody TV channels offer real tonal variety, Gex's reference-loaded humour still raises a smile and the handling is markedly better. A pleasant 3D platformer surprisingly well finished by this point.

Collector interest

The NTSC-USA Gex 3 has a noticeably lower loose price than the European one, marking a more generous American release. Complete copies stay accessible, with only sealed stock holding real tension. This 1999 Crave 3D platformer benefits from renewed interest in N64-era secondary mascots, yet its value remains driven by scarce sealed examples rather than deep demand. It is the easier of the two regions to assemble in complete condition.

Is Gex 3 - Deep Cover Gecko still worth playing in 2026?

Gex 3 - Deep Cover Gecko is the third installment of Crave's spy gecko adventures, infiltrating a multitude of parody television channels to save Agent Xtra. The concept of crossing worlds that pastiche films and shows, carried by the hero's incessant one-liners, keeps a singular humor. The 3D handling, camera and a repetitive level design show their age. For fans of retro 3D mascot platformers and referential parody humor, it is a pleasant curiosity, mainly for the character's offbeat tone.
