The western NES version of Goonies 2. Same excellent content as the Famicom version. Inventive adventure-action genre blending by Konami. A very good licensed game to (re)discover.

Is Goonies II, The still worth playing in 2026?

A sequel to the Goonies from Konami, The Goonies II sends Mikey to explore the Fratellis' labyrinthine hideout to save his friends and a mermaid, in an adventure blending side scrolling platforming and first person exploration. The open structure, the item collecting and the secret passages make it a forerunner of non linear adventure on the console. The polished production and the mood have aged well. For a fan of retro action adventure or someone curious about Konami classics, the title keeps a lasting richness and charm.
