Neversoft and Activision music game with a plastic guitar. Rock tracklist, note-chart challenges, local multi for the full band. A rhythm-game staple at the time, fun for rock fans even if the Wii build trails the HD consoles technically.

Is Guitar Hero 5 still worth playing in 2026?

A major entry in the series from Neversoft, Guitar Hero 5 refines the multi-instrument formula with a Party Play system that lets you drop in and out of a session on the fly, and a very successful eclectic tracklist. The smoothness of the experience, the generous content and the group accessibility make it one of the best entries to play among friends. The dependency on dedicated peripherals and the closure of online extensions weigh today. A solid title for fans of instrumental rhythm games.
