Beside the guitar lanes appears a grid proper to the toms and cymbals, where each piece of the kit has its column and color, the bass pedal marked by a crossbar. Reading a drum part becomes a distinct visual exercise, closer to a percussive staff than to a fretboard. The art direction rebuilds the screen around the struck rhythm.
