Hang On adapts Sega's motorcycle arcade cabinet to Master System with coastal circuits and pseudo 3D speed sensation. The 8 bit conversion loses visual effects but keeps the adrenaline and turn legibility. A historical reference of portable arcade racing, founder of the genre.

Collector interest

An American compilation cartridge bundling the racing game Hang On and the shooter Astro Warrior, packaged to accompany the console in the US early in the cycle. Its desirability rests on that two-in-one format specific to the North American launch and the place of these founding titles in the machine's identity. Collectors seek it as a witness to the Master System's US start, distinct from the separate editions.
